Guidelines
We exclusively publish the work completed during your first-year at the university. We encourage all first-year students to consider sharing any assignment, project, or work of art that you designed.

Articles

Articles can range in topics and format from news article to research paper.

Not exceed 3000 words.
-
Any pictures embedded must fit within 1' margins.

Videos, Podcasts, Interviews
-
Can range in topics.
-
Not exceed more than 20 minutes (we may ask that you upload your work to YouTube for accessibility purposes - subtitles)

Art & Photography
-
Can range in topics and formats from photo galleries to comic book issues.
-
No more than 30 photos per gallery.
PUBLICATION PROCEDURES

ACCEPTANCE EMAILS ARE SENT
All accepted writers will be sent an email of acceptance from Ms. B with an estimated timeline for publication and next steps.
Acceptance emails are estimated to be sent out in June 2026.

PEER REVIEW
InQuiry's student editors will review accepted submissions are provide writers with feedback.
The feedback is estimated to be sent to writers in October 2026. Writers will have 1 month to complete revisions.

COPYEDITING
Once revised submissions are received, InQuiry student editors will complete copyediting to ensure submissions are accessible and follow our style guide.
Copyediting is estimated to take place on February 2027.

PROFILES
InQuiry's student editors will reach out to accepted writers to interview you about your writing and put together a short author bio to add to our magazine along with your work.
Interviews are estimated to take place in March 2027.

WEB DESIGN
InQuiry's student editors will design a layout for your submission and profile to be added to our InQuiry magazine
Web design and submissions uploading is estimated to take place in April 2026.

PUBLICATION
Once all submissions and writer profiles are added, the InQuiry: First Year Composition Magazine is ready for publication!
The website is estimated to be ready for publication in May 2027.

READ & SHARE
Once the InQuiry magazine is ready, you are encouraged to share your accomplishments with the world by sharing a link to our InQuiry magazine with friends and family!
